6. Changes and Cancellations by you (the Customer)

Any cancellation or amendment request must be made by the lead name and sent to us in writing (email or post) and will take effect on the day we receive it. Alternatively, by calling us as calls are recorded for training & monitoring purposes, this will used as proof of your cancellation/amendment request, which will be actioned during or post the call. Please ensure that you have received written confirmation of any changes to your booking once cancellation has been completed. Proof of posting is not proof of receipt, therefore you are advised to also confirm all changes by telephone.

Whilst we will try to assist, we cannot guarantee that such requests will be met. Amendments and cancellations can only be accepted in accordance with the terms and conditions of the supplier of your arrangements.

Should you cancel due to being advised not travel by a doctor, hospital, health practitioner etc. we strongly recommend you get confirmation such as doctor/hospital letter, treatment plan, hospital admission etc. as you may need this for any potential travel insurance claim made.

Upon your cancellation request being completed you will recieve an email with your Pure Holidays 'cancellation invoice', which can take up to 72 hrs before you receive it (weekends & bank holidays may take slightly longer). Within this email it will state any cancellation charges & outline what you need to sumbit to your travel insurance, should you be making a claim.

The supplier may charge the cancellation or amendment charges shown in their booking conditions (which may be as much as 100% of the cost of the travel arrangements and will normally increase closer to the date of departure). In addition we may charge an administration fee as outlined the Barrhead Bookings Terms & Conditions.

Most scheduled airlines do not allow changes, and therefore full cancellation charges will usually apply. Most 'no frills' airlines have cancellation charges of 100% from time of booking. By the Supplier we will inform you as soon as reasonably possible if the supplier needs to make a significant change to your confirmed arrangements or to cancel them. We will also liaise between you and the supplier in relation to any alternative arrangements offered by the supplier but we will have no further liability to you.

If you change your booking (excludes name changes)
If, after our confirmation invoice has been issued, you wish to change your travel arrangements in any way, for example your chosen date or accommodation, we will do our utmost to make these changes but it may not always be possible. Any request for changes to be made must be made in writing from the person who made the booking or your travel agent.

You may be asked to pay an administration charge of £25 and any further cost we incur in making this alteration.  You should be aware that these costs could increase the closer to the departure date that changes are made and you should contact us as soon as possible.

Note: Certain travel arrangements (e.g. Apex Tickets/Low Cost Flights) may not be changeable after a reservation has been made and any alteration request could incur a cancellation charge of up to 100% of that part of the arrangements.

Name changes before travel
Except for holidays including budget or scheduled flights if we receive notification for a name change request there may be additional charges applicable by Barrhead &/or your chosen cruise line. For holidays including scheduled flights, please note that some scheduled airlines do not permit name changes for any reason.  Such charges are likely to include the full costs of the flight and may be subject to space being available for a new reservation.

If you cancel your booking

You, or any member of your party with the consent of the lead name on the booking, may cancel your travel arrangements at any time. Written notification from the person who made the booking must be received at our office, via email or a recorded call over telephone that has been provided at the time of booking.

Since we incur costs in cancelling your travel arrangements, you will have to pay the applicable cancellation charges up to the maximum penalties as per your chosen cruise line's cancellation policy terms & conditions. Period before departure within which written cancellation by email/post or by verbal communication over the phone has to be recieved by Pure Holidays. Applicable cancellation charges are outlined as per Barrhead Booking Terms & Conditions & your suppliers bookings confirmation or websites.

Note: if the reason for cancellation is covered under the terms of an insurance policy, you may be able to reclaim these charges. The full insurance premium is retained in the event of cancellation.* Bookings that include Budget/Low Cost or Schedule Flights and/or cruise may incur different cancellation charges.  Please enquire at the time of booking.

7. Changes and Cancellations by the Supplier

We do not exclude or limit any liability for death or personal injury that arises as a result of our negligence or that of any of our employees whilst acting in the course of their employment.

9. Financial Protection

All the package holidays we sell, including those that we might organise for you, come with protection for your money. If you buy a single travel service then this might not apply. Package holidays are protected by the package organiser and we will provide you with their confirmation.
